Very happy to see one of my favorite clients and cars again today, and I thought you guys would appreciate this. I’ve been pretty lucky to care for this thing over the years. It’s dusty from sitting, but is straight and rust free as can be top & bottom. My phone cam sucks, but at least these are better than the sole grainy photo I’ve had of it until now.

That looks a lot like one of my friend’s car from back in HS. His was super clean and the color with the Deutschland badge... But I doubt its his seeing as I think he still lives in Long Beach.

I got a 56.
later put spun aluminum wheels and drag radials on the back. Ran 12.79 at 104.
went back to the empi’s now. Drag radials are hard on transaxles

AWESOME! Nice Bug, mine was stock body but I swaped the pan for a later one and had 1835* twin port engine. Also had widened 4 stud steel rims on stock centers. It's color was Ivory. Have photos somewhere but they are old analog ones, pre digital.
*if I recall correctly, was over 20 years ago.

thanks, mine is on a 1962 pa. I messed up and posted the same picture twice because I have an 8 month old on my shoulders.

Yeah kids are pretty distracting! Got two myself, love em.
“Drag radials are hard on transaxles” What does this mean?

Never mind, I reread and understand now. The radials are hard on the transaxle meaning they put too much strain on the hardware! I was thinking ‘hard on’ was some strong method of attachment that I hadn’t heard of before. Face palm

Glad you found it. The want for this car is strong, I’m absolutely in love with it. I usually don’t like the roofracks, but this is an original so it gets a pass. Just a wonderful car, it drives perfect.

speaking of the want being strong...is Sac town out of your range? This seems like a hell of a deal to me, considering I sold mine for 3 times this with rust worse than this has going on http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4994885880…

Wow, look at that magnificent bastard! Gotta be a dog with the automatic though, right? Sac is 4-5 hours north, not too bad if I catch traffic right or cut over to I-5. Need it looked at?

nah only if you wanted something nuts for yourself. My auto/diesel was death slow - BUT faster than that oval Beetle (slightly) and the ride is ridiculous good in a 504 Break
does the wood convince you any further?

Dammit. You’re killin’ me here. That’s undeniably sweet, like a French Chris Craft. I’d rock it.
